Who am I?

My name is Andrew Johnson and I’m the head coach at Andrew Johnson Coaching (AJC). I started AJC in 2017 with the intention of helping family and friends with their fitness and rehabilitation journey. I have been training since 2014 due to rehabilitating an ACL injury. Since then, I have helped over 500 people with their programming and rehabilitation needs.

What do I do?

I graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (First Class Honours) and also a year of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. I’ve completed Strength System International Certification Level 1, 2 and 3. I’m currently completing Australian Strength and Conditioning Association Level 1 certification also. Further development in Acupuncture and Dry Needling also completed. My services include Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Strength and Conditioning for any sport and Mentorship and Seminars for Physiotherapy and Coaching.

Why do I do what I do?

I thoroughly enjoy getting the average joe to elite joe whether that be in their physical strength, mentality or specific sport. I endeavour and continue to learn the perceived best ways to improve one’s strength while staying injury and pain-free.

How can I help you?

I get asked repeatedly, “Does strength training mean I am only aiming to get stronger?”. My response to this continues to read, “Strength training is a fancy way of implying the aim is to improve one’s general strength and ability to move more effectively and efficiently”. Whether you want to increase muscle mass, decrease body fat, increase strength, move without pain, improve chronic injuries, I can help you with all simultaneously. I love all chronic injuries varying from musculoskeletal and nerve injuries to debilitating conditions such as strokes. My strength lies in that I will never be satisfied with my level of knowledge and I endeavour to be able to assist any person I interact with whether physically or mentally at a point in time.     Where do I start. I've trained with plenty of trainers in my time but no one can compare to Andrew. His knowledge and skills are impeccable. I had been training for years prior to starting with Andrew and I could never quite hit my weight lifting goals. Andrew adjusted a few things here and there and before I knew it I had smashed goals I never thought were possible for me. He genuinely cares about where you're at and where you'd like to be and your goals. If you're looking for a coach/trainer I could not recommend Andrew highly enough.

    I have been working on and off with Andrew for almost 3 years now. He has always been professional, kind and shown the utmost care towards myself/clients, always responding to my stupid questions, critiquing my form, or just following up on how I am travelling.

    Andrew has an incredible amount of knowledge about the body, fitness, recovery and always has the best advice to give when I have questions to ask.

    I had a back injury from a deadlift in October 2019, Andrew was by my side the entire time giving me warm ups, exercises and stretches to improve and strengthen my injured areas, but also gave encouragement to keep me at peace that an injury isn’t the end of the fitness journey, but that it was only the beginning. A year later I was lifting heavier then I ever had and my mental state improved.

    Continued on into trying gaining weight, from 2020-2021 I put on 20kg throughout the year, with increased lifting and food, all with Andrew’s advice and encouragement.

    Andrew has been nothing but a blessing in my journey, through hitting PB’s, recovering from injuries or just positive feedback and encouragement.
